Every time the bucks went clattering
Over Oklahoma
A firecat bristled in the way.
Wherever they went,
They went clattering,
Until they swerved,
In a swift, circular line,
To the right,
Because of the firecat.
Or until they swerved,
In a swift, circular line,
To the left,
Because of the firecat.
The bucks clattered.
The firecat went leaping,
To the right, to the left,
And
Bristled in the way.
Later, the firecat closed his bright eyes
And slept.

每当雄鹿发出嘎嗒声
越过红人州
一只火猫挡住了去路。
无论走到哪里，
它们都发出嘎嗒声，
直到急转弯，
沿着快速环形线，
向右边，
因为火猫。
或者直到它们变换方位，
沿着快速环形线，
向右，
因为火猫。
雄鹿嘎嗒。
火猫飞身跳跃，
向右边、向左边，
而且
挡住了去路。
然后，火猫闭上明眸
睡下。
【注】这个星期天是母亲节，我轮到宾州光华中文学校值班，巧遇各班级选拔出来的学生参加2024年年级识字比赛，角逐将原本科班趣味性的记忆提高到现在红包刺激性的比拼，不知国内上初小的同龄少年儿童是否也能享受到被奶爸宝妈哄着登擂台的滋润，像眼前这些正值春天初绽的花朵一样洋溢着随性的稚气。
