Stepping off the plane, through the door,

A captivating scent greets me evermore.

The rich aroma of coffee fills the air,

With the wafting of food, a fragrant affair,

Lingering in the corridor as I pass.

I take a deep breath, savoring the class,

My feet on the deep green carpet below,

This grounded feeling, like a long-lost home’s glow.

Vancouver, with its unique embrace,

Welcomes my arrival in a special grace.

Not every place we call home, you see,

Is a refuge from life’s stormy sea,

But wherever the heart finds peace and rest,

That’s where true home is, at its best...
